Inspire your child to love STEM today! Each workshop includes discovery-based science and engineering activities that can be done at home! Click here for more details - Participants will learn all about water engineering, how clean drinking water gets to our homes, and then play a game where they will design and build their own water treatment system! The participants will face exciting challenges such as population size, budget, water quality, and required potable water to be delivered. The recommended ages for this workshop are children from 9-14 years old. Workshop Outline: - Introduction of Ripple Studios - Ice breaker - Discussion about water engineering and the importance of water treatment - Discussion about STEM professions in the Water Treatment field - Play Water Rush, an educational videogame about water treatment where students design their own systems (Participants will need access to either a mobile device (iOS, Android), Chromebook or MacOS). - Kahoot quiz - Wrap up Ripple Studios is on a mission to inspire all students to consider a career in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Through video games and other digital media, they seek to reinvent how the next generation of children is taught to approach their future in STEM. Our objective is to create STEM activities that promote diversity and inclusion, show positive role models, and spark curiosity in young minds. Each of our STEM Series workshops includes discovery-based science and engineering activities that can be conducted in the comfort of your own home! Every workshop is led by two of our instructors who will explore the theory behind each of the activities all while promoting student engagement and fun. You can expect workshops that integrate various topics within science and engineering including, flight, water treatment, robotics, coding, and electricity.
