Senior Maintenance Worker – Water Distribution Water Division Public Works Department Application deadline: Thursday, March 17, 2022 Visit www.icgov.org/jobs to apply online One permanent full time position available Full salary range: $62,046.40 – $78,728.00 Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm Job summary: Under general direction, coordinates and participates in the maintenance, construction and repair of water mains, hydrants, valves and fittings. Designs and draws completed plans for water main construc¬tion. Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years of post-high school education from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body required or CEU equivalent required. Four years of experience and/or training in water distribution mainte¬nance and construction or in a related field required. Supervisory or lead experience required. Iowa DNR Grade III Water Distribution Certification. Iowa DNR Grade IV Water Distribution Certification required within three years of hire. Must live within 17 miles of the corporate limits of Iowa City, Iowa within one year of appointment to the position. Valid Iowa Class B commercial driver's license with air brake and tank endorsements required. Valid Class A commercial driver’s license required within 6 months of hire. This position is subject to federal drug testing requirements including screening through the FMCSA Clearinghouse. A pre-employment drug screen is required. Must pass criminal background check. Preferred qualifications: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body preferred. Five years of experience in water distribution mainte¬nance and construction or in a related field preferred. Iowa DNR Grade IV Water Distribution Certification preferred.
