Description

This is Dorothy, an intelligent and sweet 14-week-old golden mix female puppy. Dorothy is as sweet as she is smart. In just two days she has learned “sit” “lay down” “shake hands” and “stand pretty”, she has been responding well to “come” or a whistle but she can get distracted when we’re outside and will need continued training before she’s really got it down. We’ve also been working on her not jumping up, she loves to meet new people with enthusiastic hops, she is getting better about not jumping but there is room for improvement with continued training. Potty training is also going very well, she prefers to do the business outside but she doesn’t know how to communicate the need for the door to be opened and she’ll use a pee pad if you’re not paying attention. Dorothy gets along well with other dogs, she’s feisty enough to try to steal toys from my 75-pound dog but she seems to prefer to play with dogs more her size at the dog park. She doesn’t like to get stepped on. Tug-O-war is one of her favorite games and she’s been showing interest in fetch as well. She is well behaved inside but she will chew up the house if she doesn’t have lots of toy options! Dorothy is very well behaved in the crate at night but may give a protesting yap or two if she is crated during the day in a room without people or dogs to keep her company. All in all, Dorothy is a curious and kind puppy with a strong willing to please nature and the sweetest big puppy eyes. (This little lady loves a good snuggle too, those big soft ears must be fondled!) She is athletic and when she feels safe with her human, she is bold and ready to try anything. She is going to make someone an excellent adventure dog or family companion. Dorothy was found as a starving stray and covered in sores. Now she is a happy and healthy, quickly growing puppy looking for her forever home. She really has gone from rags to riches, she is a princess. Dorothy is currently about 15 pounds, is all up to date on her shots, is micro-chipped and fixed. Her adoption fee is $500
