Description
Granite Hills Group (GHG) is the newly-named landscaping company formed in 2021 by the merger of LandCare Innovations (Charlotte, NC), GroundWorks (Raleigh, NC), and Sodfather (Greenville-Spartanburg, SC). This partnership is the platform from which GHG will become the dominant landscape company in the Southeast while retaining the culture of a family-owned business. Each branch has a landscape construction division and maintenance division and as such provides turnkey landscaping services from project groundbreaking through ongoing maintenance. Crew members will have a broad range of work options in the areas of horticulture, irrigation, turf maintenance, hardscaping, and landscape construction. Employees work in the field and should be prepared to work outdoors in varied weather, including rain and heat. The work is physically demanding, and employees must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, as well as stand, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the day. Tasks include: using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruning saws; operating powered equipment such as mowers, chain-saws, string-trimmers, and hedge trimmers; watering plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses or water cans; gathering and removing litter; and other related landscape activities. Starting pay for entry-level positions is $15.08/hour for straight time ($22.62/hour for overtime). Employees should expect to work between 40 and 50 hours per week Monday through Friday with the option of Saturday rotations. The workday begins at 7:00 a.m. and lasts until approximately 5:00 p.m. with paid breaks throughout the day and an unpaid lunch (one-half to one hour depending on the group assignment for the day). Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation, at the company’s sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure. Employees are paid bi-weekly (on Fridays). A single workweek is used to compute overtime. To apply, please email Kelly Reid or call/text Kelly at (864)303-1321.
