BATAVIA, IL — The number of new coronavirus cases continue to rise in Kane County and across the state with five total confirmed cases reported as of Thursday in Batavia. Throughout the county, there have been 155 confirmed cases and eight deaths, health officials said late Thursday afternoon. Throughout the state, 7,600 have tested positive for the new coronavirus and 176 have died, state officials announced Thursday afternoon. In the past 24 hours, there have been 715 new coronavirus cases reported in Illinois.
