After registering you will be contacted for payment options ** The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife offers a remedial outdoor ethics course for those who receive a mandatory revocation of a hunting, fishing, trapping or guide license. This also applies to the revocation of privileges of registering an ATV, snowmobile, and boat. You must attend this course PRIOR to license re-instatement and attempting to purchase a license without previously attending an ethics class is in violation of legally acquiring a license. The goal of this course is to build trust and gain a better understanding of how ethics plays into the role of the outdoors person. There will be time spent discussing various scenarios and situations where we’ll break each down to explore decision making and considerations pertaining to ethics, laws, and safety concerns. We often have guest speakers such as a game warden, biologist, department representative, or landowner to share their knowledge and perspectives. The course is designed to be an interactive workshop and we hope that you will leave with a new- found appreciation for all that goes into Maine’s conservation model. We are biologists, game wardens, and educators all in on a common mission: responsible, safe enjoyment of the Maine outdoors. We believe a healthy ecosystem makes life better for all the fish, wildlife, and people who call Maine home, as well as for the visitors who call it Vacationland. While MDIFW is a state agency, our work is funded by sportsmen and outdoorspeople. Our revenue comes through the sale of hunting and fishing licenses/permits, boat, snowmobile, and ATV registrations, as well as taxes on hunting and fishing gear. The more people who actively enjoy Maine's natural resources, the more ability we have to enhance, preserve, and protect them for the future. Basically, we're all in this together. Biologists. Game wardens. Educators. And you – the hunters, fishermen, and everyday adventurers who support our work. For recreation, for hunting, for fishing, for science, or just for fun: we're all in for the Maine outdoors.
