Description
Join us for our first in-person community service event of 2022! Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Join the Society of Health Policy Young Professionals throughout the month of March 2022 as part of our "SDOH Summit: Evidence into Action". Our “SDOH Summit'' will include six events over the course of four weeks, featuring policy panels on key topics, a community service event, and in-person networking. There will be no cost for event attendance and all sessions will be open to the public, members and non-members alike. Join us on Saturday, March 19th from 1-3pm ET at A Wider Circle for an in-person community service event as part of our "SDOH Summit". We will be helping to sort and pack items for the families that A Wider Circle serves. Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to volunteer in-person. A Wider Circle only can accomodate 10 people for this event. Register today to reserve your spot! Due to the limited numbers of seats, we ask that if you need to cancel, you do so as early as you can so that your spot can be released to someone on the waitlist who is able to join us. The mission of A Wider Circle is to end poverty. For many of those served by A Wider Circle, the journey out of poverty starts with a furnished home. Through their Essential Support Program, A Wider Circle provides 10–15 families each day with beds, dressers, dining sets, couches, and more — all free of charge. A Wider Circle follows all CDC recommendations to ensure we can “do good” while keeping our community healthy. All volunteers are asked to social distance, wear masks, follow good hand hygiene practices, and complete a health questionnaire before each engagement. The Society of Health Policy Young Professionals (SHPYP) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-partisan, volunteer-led organization dedicated to providing networking and professional development opportunities for young professionals in health policy.
