Buckeye Ridge Habitat for Humanity invites community leaders and interested individuals of all cultures and diversities from Marion and the surrounding counties to join them in a Kickoff Event for the “Breaking Barriers to and through Black Homeownership Initiative”. Enjoy heavy appetizers by Special Occasions and a cash bar at The Brickyard on Main during an informative program about policy barriers to homeownership historically faced by the Black communitythe ramifications those policies still carry todayhow we can work together to advance Black homeownership locally for our community’s best future.Keynote speaker is Michele Reynolds, Chair of the Madison Township (Franklin Co.) Board of Trustees. She formerly served as the director of the Governor's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. She is a licensed Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Plus Realty, and the founder and Chief Executive Officer of NISRE, Inc., a faith-based non-profit. Pastor Jackie Peterson, founding leader of Logos Christian Ministries will emcee. She will be joined by “Silky Ray” Macklin, Outreach Coordinator and Show Host of TruBlues 97.5, and Lynn Zucker, Executive Director of Buckeye Ridge Habitat for Humanity.
