Description

Join Kimball Art Center in an intimate conversation centered around Cathy Park Hong's recent essay on the possibilities of Asian identity. About Minor Feelings: Part memoir and part cultural criticism, this collection is vulnerable, humorous, and provocative – and its relentless and riveting pursuit of vital questions around family and friendship, art and politics, identity and individuality, will change the way you think about our world. Discussion will be led by author Paisley Rekdal. About Paisley Rekdal: Distinguished Professor at the University of Utah, where she is also the creator and editor of West: A Translation, as well as the community web projects Mapping Literary Utah and Mapping Salt Lake City. In May 2017, she was named Utah’s Poet Laureate and received a 2019 Academy of American Poets’ Poets Laureate Fellowship. The Kimball Art Center (KAC) provides international quality art exhibitions and dynamic educational opportunities for the citizens of Park City, Summit County, Wasatch County, and the region’s many visitors. Our Mission is to inspire and connect through art. We believe art should be accessible to all and that art plays a critical role in the overall success of the Park City community. That’s why we provide art education in Utah schools at no cost, offer free exhibitions in our galleries, and host a number of annual community events.
