Press release from the Hennepin County Library: July 29, 2020 The general contractor continues to make substantial progress. Interior demolition is complete and was followed by the framing of new walls. The project was estimated to be 28% complete as of June 1. Current work includes: Replacing the mansards and roof Mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins Connecting new air handling units and condensers Rocking, taping and mudding of walls Continued landscaping infrastructure In the next few weeks the contractor anticipates work to include: Curtain wall refurbishment Continued work on bridge and garage roofs and mansard replacements Abatement in preparation for foundation waterproofing, scheduled for installation later in July Ongoing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins Installing mechanical and electrical in main-level floors Continued construction of the underside of bridge Start of parking lot reconstruction Construction is scheduled to be complete in January 2021.
