Hicksville HS Students Receive Special Recognition

HICKSVILLE, NY — The College Board recognized a few select Hicksville High School students who earned special recognition because of their academic achievements in school and outstanding performance on the PSAT and/or AP exams. They were recognized by the College Board Nation Recognition Programs with the National African American Recognition Award and National Hispanic Recognition Award. Cameron Hall and Samantha Mason were awarded the College Board's National African American Recognition Award. Jade Amador, Sarah Chavez, Isabella Diaz, Matthew Membreno, and Kaitlyn Verdugo-Ortiz were awarded the College Board's National Hispanic Recognition Award. These students were recognized, because they scored in the top 10 percent on their PSAT and AP exams. Additionally, they earned a score of at least a 3 on two or more AP exams, and have a 3.5 GPA or higher. During a recent Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Marianne Litzman recognized all these students for their achievement and hard work during their time at Hicksville High School.
