Danbury Debuts Task Force On Homelessness

DANBURY, CT- The city looks to tackle the growing problem of homelessness with the formation of a new task force. Mayor Dean Esposito announced the formation of the Task Force on Homelessness on Thursday. The unit is comprised of 17 community leaders in Danbury who are focused on finding short-term and long-term solutions for the cities' homeless population needs, according to the Mayor's Office. "This Task Force will help us determine the best direction forward for our city when it comes to providing support for our homeless community. I want to thank the members of the Task Force for their commitment and dedication to Danbury. I look forward to hearing their recommendations and ideas in the coming weeks that will add to our collective plan in regards to homelessness," Esposito said. The task force will look at a variety of issues facing the homeless including chronic homelessness, episodic homelessness, and transitional homelessness, according to a news release. Robert Botelho of property management services firm Victorian Associates will serve as chair and Ari Rosenberg of The Association of Religious Communities in Danbury will serve as vice chair.
