NEWARK, NJ — Newark public safety officials are advising drivers to be careful and avoid flood-prone streets ahead of a winter storm forecast. Up to six inches of snow and sleet accumulations are expected in New Jersey from Thursday evening into Friday, paving the way for an icy Friday morning commute. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for 12 counties, including Essex. Drivers are also advised to use caution due to possible icy conditions, he added.
