Here are the top three stories today in Colorado Springs: The victim of a Feb. 20 shooting has officially been identified as 39-year-old Gilberto Barajas, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department. The incident occurred in the 2500 block of East Uintah Street, where Barajas was shot and killed. Police are asking the community to contact the department with any information related to the case. (KOAA.com Colorado Springs and Pueblo News)The Colorado Springs Police Department arrested a woman who had over 100 stolen items in a stolen truck. The items are possibly stolen from at least 35 victims, according to the department. Shelby McMiller is being charged with second-degree burglary, aggravated motor vehicle theft, and theft between $2,000 and $5,000. (Colorado Springs Gazette)The Colorado Springs community has broken the record for donations raised towards the Empty Stocking Fund in 2021. According to officials with the campaign, $1,727,433 was raised to serve over 350,000 individuals throughout the year. The money is currently being distributed across the 20 different agencies that are on the front lines helping people.
