A national campaign and public affairs firm is looking for energetic canvassers to help talk to South Carolina voters and gather information about the public’s perception of a potential new state law. Canvasser: This is a short-term canvassing opportunity for up to 30 hours a week of voter outreach in Darlington and York Counties. We offer flexible shifts Monday through Saturday and performance based bonus pay. We are looking for motivated, personable and energetic South Carolinians who are interested in and feel confident speaking about local issues. Candidates must have their own reliable mode of transportation and must be over 21. Candidates must be physically active and capable of walking outdoors while following COVID-19 protocols. Responsibilities: Educating and recruiting voters to join the coalition through door-to-door canvassing, tabling and phone banking Meeting ambitious goals to engage voters and sign them to the coalition Inputting information digitally using campaign-provided tablets Assisting field director to recruit advocates for earned, paid and social media Travel: All canvassing positions require reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license, phone, and willingness to travel throughout the north Midlands Region or the northwest Pee Dee Region. Key qualifications include: Experience in grassroots organizing for political and/or advocacy campaigns preferred but not required Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Training in grassroots advocacy and field organizing Demonstrated ease with public speaking and comfort utilizing phone, and digital communications to communicate with key audiences Excellent attention to detail and follow-through Strong organizational skills Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Hiring on rolling basis, with work to begin immediately.
