Press release from the Cosumnes Community Services District : September 4, 2020 On August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment became part of the Constitution, declaring that the right to vote could not be denied on the basis of sex. On the 100th anniversary, Cosumnes CSD celebrates the work of the generations of women who campaigned, marched, protested, fundraised and lobbied to reach this enormous victory in American history. Cosumnes CSD recognizes that work continues to advance the equality of women in all political, social, economic, and cultural aspects of life in the United States, including shared leadership.
