Description
At Friends of Aine, we want to create a world where no child grieves alone. Our volunteers work towards this mission by facilitating peer-to-peer, activity-based support groups. These services are open to grieving children, teens, and their adult caregivers. Our goal is to create a safe space for our grieving population to share their own personal experiences, explore topics related to grief, and learn coping strategies.
We host three seasonal series per year: Fall, Winter, and Spring, each running eight weeks. We ask that volunteers commit to one night per week each series, or 24 evenings per year. Each volunteer is prepared well in advance by our Program Coordinator who develops the curriculum for each series. Volunteers do not need to have a specific background in any particular field. They will be trained by both the Volunteer Coordinator and Program Coordinator. Facilitators will work together within the same room in groups of two. Please contact Catherine Benetti at 603-669-1120 or [email protected] for more information.
