Press release from the Wright County Government: February 23, 2022 One of the final winter recreation opportunities through Wright County Parks & Recreation will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at Robert Ney Memorial Park with Lantern Cross-Country Ski. The event is free for those who have their own skis and $5 for those who need skis and poles. There is no reservation requirement, so skis and poles will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until the run out. About 50 lanterns will illuminate the north loop at the park and the trails will be groomed. Inside the Ney Park Nature Center there will be treats and hot beverages to enjoy and a campfire will be roaring outside the Nature Center. With spring fast approaching, this will be one of the final chances to enjoy the winter outdoors and the Lantern Ski is always a popular event for the entire family.
