CLEVELAND — A Cleveland State University residence hall was evacuated Thursday due to a bomb threat, the school announced, but police have now cleared the area and normal activity has now resumed.
The Euclid Commons, at 2502 Euclid Ave., was evacuated at 9:45 a.m. "out of an abundance of caution," the university announced on Twitter. Students and community members were asked to avoid the area.
Bomb sniffing dogs, Cleveland State University Police, Cleveland Police, Cleveland Heights Police and RTA Police converged on the building and searched the area. The area was cleared at approximately 11 a.m., the university said on Twitter. Normal activity in the building can now resume.
The Euclid Commons houses both student residents and some administrative offices, a university spokesperson told Patch.
