UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A half dozen burglars stole half a million dollars' worth of luxury goods from an upscale Upper East Side consignment shop, according to police. Seven men walked into The RealReal — a consignment store for luxury clothing and jewelry on Madison Avenue and East 71st Street — about 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, police said. Once inside, they stole jewelry, watches and handbags valued at about $498,000 combined, police said. The looted items included Chanel and Hermès handbags, Cartier watches, Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry and "miscellaneous rings and watches," an NYPD spokesperson told patch. Police shared surveillance images showing two of the suspects accused of burglarizing The RealReal on Madison Avenue. (NYPD) The men left in two vehicles, with one fleeing north on Madison Avenue and another heading south along Fifth Avenue, police said.
