ATLANTA, GA – Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine, calling for a swift end to the assault. Early Thursday morning after news of the attack was reported, Kemp took to Twitter to send out words of prayer and solidarity for the Ukrainian people. "As Putin and the Russian army violate Ukraine's sovereignty through this callous, indefensible invasion, we stand with our allies and condemn this aggression of tyrants," Kemp tweeted. "We are praying for a quick, just end to this conflict, the safety of Ukraine's citizens, and the defeat of democracy's enemies." Russian military began coordinated attacks before dawn striking at Ukraine's eastern, northern and southern borders and killing at least 40 people according to the Associated Press. Responding to the assault, Kemp also offered up praying words for American troops, both in Georgia and across the world, who are now on alert as the conflict heightens. "We are also mindful of how this could impact the brave men and women of our military, including Georgia servicemembers who are on heightened alert. (Georgia First Lady Marty Kemp), the girls and I ask that you join us in praying for their safety, for their families, and for the well-being of all those who fight for liberty around the world."
