EL CERRITO, CA — Contra Costa Civic Theatre in El Cerrito has postponed its 2020-21 season, as well as its scheduled July and August production of "Crowns" due to novel coronavirus health concerns. "With so much uncertainty about the trajectory of the virus, we cannot risk the safety of our artists and audiences by trying to move forward with business as usual," says Executive Artistic Director Marilyn Langbehn. "Since planning a traditional season for next year is effectively impossible, we'll use this unexpected intermission to strengthen our bonds with our communities, and to make sure we're ready to go when we're given the all-clear." The community theater company, which was established in 1959 and has its stage at 951 Pomona Ave. in El Cerrito, plans to announce its 2021-22 season in the fall. CCCT said it will proceed with its annual summer camps, scheduled to start on June 8, following protocols ordered by the Contra Costa County Health Department.
