Thomas Custom Builders, a family-owned design build firm specializing in custom residential construction in the Northern Virginia area, seeks a well-qualified Carpenters Assistant for ongoing remodeling projects to include bathrooms, kitchens, additions and new construction. The right candidate should be an ambitious, motivated, dependable and hardworking individual who is looking to grow with the company. Duties & Responsibilities: • Complete all work as directed by the Foreman or Project Manager • Ability to work with construction materials and tools and all work included • Assist Carpenters in completing their work, including but not limited to, performing basic carpentry work, getting material needed, as well as jobsite organization and cleanup • Perform a variety of routine, non-machine tasks such as: preparing job sites, jobsite organization and cleanup Requirements: • Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in remodeling and/or construction, preferred • Be able to communicate with others clearly • Ability to lift 75 pounds and meet the physical requirements of a remodeling project • Follow jobsite safety procedures and point out unsafe conditions • Ability to follow instructions and company policies and procedures • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation • Ability to pass a background check
