Application period October 26 through November 6
The Dakota County Board approved a "Round 2" $5 million Small Business Relief Grant Program. Round 2 has the same eligibility criteria as the first program, but has added home-based businesses as eligible applicants—those were not eligible in either the County's Round 1 CARES assistance, or the City's Small Business COVID 19 Assistance Program.
Home-based businesses will be eligible to apply for Round 2 with the following restrictions:
The profit generated from the home-based business must be the primary source of income for the applicant (i.e. hobby-based business are not eligible to apply) Home-based businesses may not apply for home mortgage and/or rent expenses If the home-based business is owned and operated by a sole-proprietor, the applicant may not apply for payroll expenses The home-based business must otherwise meet program eligibility criteria The application period for Round 2 opens Monday, October 26 and ends on Friday, November 6. It will be a first-come, first-serve program and requires that applicants have all verification documentation upfront included in the application.
