Description

Press release from the City of Mendota Heights: April 24, 2020 In response to COVID-19 and in order to keep residents and staff safe, at its April 21 meeting the City Council announced a policy related to City-sponsored events and recreation. Unless otherwise specified, all city events and recreation programs are cancelled until July 6. This includes summer recreation programs (field trips, camps, classes, leagues), the June Concert Series at Mendakota Park, and the annual Parks Celebration and July 4 fireworks display. The Officer Scott Patrick Memorial 5K Walk/Run for Minnesota Special Olympics has been rescheduled for July 11. The City has received several inquiries into use of recreational fields for this summer. At this point, the City is not accepting any field reservations. Pending any announcements by Governor Walz that would modify the ability to safely offer youth or adult sports leagues, it will take 2 weeks from that point to properly prepare fields for use.
