Big red pedal tours is searching for a dedicated mechanic for our fleet of five 15 passenger pedal powered vehicles! This is a great opportunity for someone to make great money during off hours. This job requires approximately 10 to 15 hours a week making $25.00-$50.00 dollars an hour depending on your skill set. Hours are at the mechanics convenience. Mechanic will be responsible for all aspects of keeping our fleet of tour vehicles in top notch condition. This includes inspections to ensure that the bikes are mechanically in good condition and safe. They will be in charge of making adjustments and repairs when needed, and ensuring the bikes are clean and presentable for our guests. Our mechanic will need to have the following skills: -Able to work unsupervised -A keen attention to details -Able to troubleshoot basic 12-volt systems (lighting, radios, and chargers) -Able to adjust chain drives for proper alignment -Experience with working on disk and drum brakes -Able to learn on the fly and be resourceful Skills that would be a great bonus! -Able to weld MiG/flux core -Working knowledge of 3 phase motor drives. -Able to fabricate parts when needed. -Knowledge of control boards and their association to motors Basic tools are provided. But personal tools and equipment may be used if you wish. Garage is secure and under surveillance. Hours for this position can vary due to the nature of the tourism industry in Philadelphia. There is the ability to set some or most of your hour as you will have access to our shop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to work on the bikes. Hours are flexible, do repairs and maintenance whenever it is convenient for you! We do ask that an inspection is performed on Friday night after 10 pm or Saturday morning prior to 9 am since this is our window between our busiest days of the week.
