And it simply becomes harder to find singular truths in the memory of this hoarding mind. I learned early on that authority does not care about anyone or anything, but the accumulation and exercise of power. Churches and the men that lead them really don't know shit and are entirely unqualified to handle those levers of power. Politicians come and go. The best are earnest, then worn down by compromise, and sometimes become cynical. The worst are reliably corrupt and corruptly unreliable. They only leave when caught with live boys or dead women. There are no heroes. Comic books and Bibles are just stories without much reality to leaven them. How many fantasize about fighting the good fight? Powers that can set cities alight. Yet we know our priority is revenge against irrelevant slights, rather than setting human nature right. David, himself, betrays his nation to steal a loyal man's woman. Deploys his thugs to abduct an ex-wife. Yes. I've wronged and been wrong. I've believed and lost faith. But I still live and love each day and will until my days end.
