Beautiful German Shepherd, completely free, needs to be adopted asap

Hello, my father recently passed last week, and his dog was taken into custody by animal control. Her name is Freida, she is an amazing, loyal, protective dog who is also very sweet and friendly after getting to know you. She is one of those gentle giants that still thinks she is a puppy, and she will guard your house like it's her job. I think she is maybe 7 or 8 years old, is spayed, is house broken. I have a one bedroom apartment and cannot take her at this time. We have until February 28th to find a good home for her before she gets evaluated for adoption, and I fear for her as being considered not adoptable because she's so traumatized and in a fragile state.
