GOODHUE COUNTY, MN — The Minnesota Department of Transportation this month release the results of the noise wall voting process for the project involving Highway 52 from Cannon Falls to Zumbrota.
Three sites east of Highway 52 at Zumbrota were eligible for noise wall, officials said. The agency allowed residents and property owners along the highway to vote whether to build the walls.
Property owners and residents received an information book and a ballot, according to a news release. Find the results below:
Note that vote percentages do not add up to 100. This is because percentages are given as a percent of the total possible vote points. Not every eligible ballot was returned.
Wall 1: Will NOT be installed Percent of voting points received = 60%
Yes = 20%No = 40% This location is on the east side of Highway 52 adjacent to the Highway 60 west interchange in Zumbrota. Wall 2: Will NOT be installed Percent of voting points received = 61.50 percent
Yes = 24.14 percent
No = 37.36 percent
This location is on the east side of Highway 52 between the Highway 60 west interchange and the Highway 58 interchange in Zumbrota. Wall 3: Will be installed Percent of voting points received = 82.35 percent
Yes votes = 82.35 percent
No votes = 0 percent
This location is on the east side of Highway 52 south of the Highway 58 interchange in Zumbrota.
