The Stronger Together Alliance is offering a free Mental Health First Aid training for parents, caregivers and people who work with youth!
Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. The Stronger Together Alliance is offering a free Mental Health First Aid training for parents, caregivers and people who work with youth (ages 12-18) on two dates this spring. Space is limited, so register early!
In the Mental Health First Aid course, you will learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help. Both trainings will be led by MHFA Certified Instructor Kimberly Lafountain, LMHC Behavioral Education Development Specialist, Department of Behavioral Education, Bradley Hospital.
Resource tables will be available at the training, with representatives from local agencies and organizations that offer behavioral health and other services, including Fuller Hospital, Manet Community Health Center, Attleboro/Norton YMCA, and more.
