Description

This individual will provide landscape maintenance support to a variety of industrial, commercial, and/or public properties. Landscape maintenance support includes the safe operation of commercial grade landscaping equipment and upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements. Expectations of this position: Expected to have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Cut turf using various sized power mowers, trimming and edging using a gas powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas-powered blower Properly and safely prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches Apply fertilizer, weedkiller, and insecticide as needed Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris on to the turf before mowing. Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing. The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, this individual is regularly required to stand, and use hands and fingers to handle, or feel The individual frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The individual is occasionally required to sit; walk; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Responsible for the proper care of tools, equipment, and supplies. Responsible for keeping proper inventory of supplies needed to perform daily tasks including, but not limited to gas for vehicles and equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, and maintenance Must have reliable transportation Must have a valid Driver License Must have Extensive knowledge on handling and operating all machinery Must be able to work outdoors, in certain weather conditions Expectations of every Villager: Be an enthusiastic, helpful and positive member of the team. Initiate suggestions on processes and duties on a regular basis to continue fostering active communication and participation. Take the initiative to complete tasks over and above what is asked.
