Description

Join us for the screening of Crip Camp presented to you by the Disability Resource Center and GOAL for Disability Awareness Month! Join us in learning about a pivotal time in the Disability Rights Movement! This Oscar nominated documentary follows camp-goers at a summer camp for teenagers with disabilities in the 1970’s. Their bonds endured as many migrated West to Berkeley, California — a hotbed of activism where friends from Camp Jened realized that disruption, civil disobedience, and political participation could change the future for millions. The screening will be followed by a short discussion about the film. This event is open to all UNCO students, staff and faculty. We will enjoy light snacks during the screening. You are allowed to bring beverages with a fully sealed cap into the auditorium. Questions and topics being discussed can be previewed by clicking here. Crip Camp is rated R for sexual references and some language.
