Join us for the screening of Crip Camp presented to you by the Disability Resource Center and GOAL for Disability Awareness Month! Join us in learning about a pivotal time in the Disability Rights Movement! This Oscar nominated documentary follows camp-goers at a summer camp for teenagers with disabilities in the 1970’s. Their bonds endured as many migrated West to Berkeley, California — a hotbed of activism where friends from Camp Jened realized that disruption, civil disobedience, and political participation could change the future for millions. The screening will be followed by a short discussion about the film. This event is open to all UNCO students, staff and faculty. We will enjoy light snacks during the screening.
