Employment type: full-time/part-time Field Operations Technician-Level 1 Local College Students & Veterans encouraged to apply QXC Communications, Inc (www.qxc.us) is currently hiring Field Operations Telecom Technicians with 0-3 years of related experience to support our Commercial and Residential customer growth. Tools, supplies and training provided by the Company. Duties: • Pull Cat 5, Cat 6 and Fiber-Optic cable in existing commercial or Condo/HOA residential environments • RJ45 termination, fiber fusion splicing, install Main Distribution Frames (MDF), Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF), patch panels, cable managers and network equipment (switches, router, UPS) • Install Microwave Radio Point-to-Multipoint equipment with mounting kits (sleds, channel stock, masts, etc) • Install VoIP telephone desk-sets, cordless phones or Analog/Digital converters for legacy phone attachment • Install IPTV Set Top Boxes (STB) to customer TVs • New Customer Turnup training (SSID, Password, basic How-To for VoIP / IPTV system) • Track time, complete service reports, communicate SitRep (Situation Reports) timely & effectively • Report supplies & equipment inventory & consumption daily • Report inventory of Company tools & equipment daily (Technician is responsible to replace any lost items) • Install new customers and support existing customers. Must-Have Requirements: • Ability to carry out duties effectively, efficiently and completely working alone or when in teams • Interest and ability to learn new technologies, equipment, techniques, Best Practices and systems • Must communicate effectively in English (Spanish is a plus but English is a Must) • Interest and aptitude for core telecommunication technology (switching, routing, wireless, telephone, TV) • Interest and aptitude for working with small hand tools and power tools • Interest and ability in manual labor, indoor or outdoor work, lifting 50+/- lbs, comfortable using ladders • Able to use mobile devices and applications such as Laptops (Windows or Mac), Apps (Slack, email, etc) • Valid driver license, good driving record and a reliable vehicle • Must pass drug/alcohol testing, have a clean background check and be a US citizen or have a valid Green Card • Must be punctual, courteous, respectful, reliable, communicative, helpful, tidy (we leave every work site cleaner than we find it), professional demeanor and appearance (you will be in our customer's work premises and/or homes often) and dedicated to meeting or exceeding company and customer expectations every day. Plus (not required but considered great to have): • Prior experience as an Installer with Comcast, AT&T, WISP, Structured Wiring (Cat5/6, Fiber), Satellite TV • Network training / certifications (achieved or working towards) CCNA, MTCNA, A+, etc • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and/or Google Sheets, Slides & Docs • Your own telecom tools including snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, Screw Drivers, safety gear, etc. • College students are great, we can work around most schedules • Full time, Part time, Temp / Event / Project - we can use it all • Ability / flexibility to work late shift (12-8 PM) and/or weekends is plus
