I have found that it has been by getting away from my home region and living elsewhere that I have found my place, grounded here in South Louisiana. The more I age, the more I appreciate the history and traditions, the colorful personalities, and the richness of the visual landscape. My intent in my artwork is to capture the simple things of everyday life that make it so rich, the events in the lives of special people, and the unique moments found in our traditions and culture. Current work on display plays with the South Louisiana tradition of Le Courir de Mardi Gras.
