Virtual First Fridays Offers Aurora Art In Coronavirus Shutdown

AURORA, IL — The current new coronavirus shutdown isn't stopping downtown Aurora from hosting its First Fridays arts event. The only difference is that this time they're doing it virtually. First Fridays is partnering with local businesses to offer online entertainment and demos from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on April 3. Marissa Amoni, Aurora Downtown manager, said in a statement, "The community has supported First Fridays as it has grown from a handful of venues to more than 30. Now it's time for us to thank everyone by coming to them as they stay at home. We are excited to bring art, music, and more into homes near and far for April's First Fridays event." The online offerings are set to include: Family-friendly activities Artisan demoLive belly dancing Science shows Live painting The following Facebook pages will be taking part: AKA Dance, featuring a family dance class at 6 p.m. Aurora Regional Fire Museum, offering family-friendly activities DeCari, featuring livestream cooking and curbside samples SciTech Hands-On Museum, offering science shows and story time The ArtBar, featuring a rainbow art project The Cottonseed Creative Exchange, offering live painting Zen Loft Wellness Center, featuring a belly dance performance Click the link to see the full roundup and to learn more about the Virtual First Fridays event.
