Implement Salmon Habitat Enhancement Projects • Conduct appropriate pre and post project vegetation and instream monitoring • Implement appropriate site preparation at riparian restoration sites • Plant native riparian vegetation • Install appropriate vole, beaver and deer protection, and mulch when available • Construct livestock exclusion where necessary • Maintain riparian projects including mowing and application of herbicide • Install slope stabilization seed, straw and erosion control fabric where necessary • Conduct fish passage barrier assessments and spawner surveys • Conduct topographical surveys of restoration project sites • Assist with NSEA instream project implementation • Provide flagging when necessary • Maintain NSEA native plant nursery • Work with Project coordinator to maintain NSEA facilities • Operate NSEA trucks, tractor, RTV, and hand and power tools in a safe manner • Attend monthly staff meetings and quarterly habitat meetings This a full-time, regular field crew position which involves working outside regardless of weather. Crewmembers often need to walk multiple miles each day over uneven terrain and must be able to lift items up to 50 lbs in weight multiple times per workday. Previous experience in Salmon Habitat Restoration is appreciated but not required. Training, rain gear, and necessary safety gear will be provided. Starting wage is $15.08 / hour with a 90-day probation period / performance review.
