ILLINOIS — Seven Illinois casinos will be allowed to take bets on live sports when they are allowed to reopen after the state's gaming board approved sports wagering licenses on Thursday. The board unanimously approved licenses for all seven casinos, with the licenses set to expire in June 2024. Casinos remain closed during Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois reopening plan, but they could reopen when the state enters the next phase, which could happen on June 26 at the earliest. Each casino must have its reopening plan approved by the board prior to welcoming back players.
