This seminar will address the needs of those impacted by foster care and provide information on how you and your church can be a support! On Saturday, April 30th, the Fostering Hope Merrimack Valley church network will be holding a Foster Care and Adoption Seminar for anyone interested in learning more about the needs of youth in our community who are impacted by foster care and the many opportunities to engage and support them. The seminar will take place from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM at West Church in Haverhill, MA. The seminar will include a variety of presentations by local faith and community leaders, foster and adoptive parents, child-welfare professionals, and youth adopted out of foster care. The event will also include a Q&A panel and the showing of a short documentary with audience response. Fostering Hope Merrimack Valley is a network of churches committed to caring for children, families and professionals impacted by foster care. In particular, they are motivated by the dream of a day when every child impacted by foster care has a safe and supported family to care for them. Their vision for this year is 20 in 2022, which represents the goal to raise up 20 new foster and adoptive families in the Haverhill DCF catchment in 2022. Fostering Hope New England empowers churches and individuals to care for children and families impacted by foster care. Our vision is the dream of a day when ZERO children in foster care are waiting for a safe, supported familiy to care for them. By helping to provide and develop resources like trauma-informed training, wrap-around support communities and more, Fostering Hope seeks to ensure that foster and adoptive families have the tools and encouragement they need to provide homes that maximize the potential for hope and healing of the children from hard places they care for.
