Description
Two of Colorado's funniest comedians stop through Lincoln for a special Thursday night Zoolarious show. Going through life with a reckless and undeserved confidence isn’t recommended, but it can leave a person with a lot of really good stories to tell. At least it seems to be BRETT HIKER's formula. Whether it’s faking his way into an archaeologist job, waking up on top of a fast food restaurant in Central America, or breaking George Clooney’s hand in a barn door; Brett Hiker and wild stories seem to be on star-crossed paths. Lucky for comedy fans, he’s pretty good at telling them. Hiker’s origin story starts with a decade bouncing around working class jobs and getting fired every 6 months for spending more time making his coworkers laugh than doing any sort of actual work. This all ended in 2008 when he found a job that would pay him for doing exactly that. A career in comedy has taken Hiker all over North America and afforded him the opportunities to travel overseas to perform in front of large foreign audiences that both laugh with and AT his boorish American ways. He is also a stalwart of the North American festival circuit and has showcased his comedy at prestigious events like the Aspen, Limestone, and High Plains comedy fests. Hiker’s stand-up made its TV debut in 2011 on the After After Party) and has since had his comedy featured on Fox, the CW, Comcast and dozens of morning radio shows across the country. From growing up deep in the Rocky Mountains, to living a fast paced city life on the East Coast, to countless months spent abroad as an expat; Hiker’s broad appeal affords him the opportunity to perform across the country in clubs, theaters, bars, alt rooms, and even G-rated shows for old people and republicans. His jokes and stories have been described as “red neck jokes for hipsters” and “hipster jokes for red necks”, really depends on who you ask... Brett is an avid fan of dive bars, legos, large dogs, soft drugs, snowstorms, carharts, wiffle ball, Toaster Strudels, silly hats, open containers, vintage hockey teams, pillow forts, bad movies, day drinking, breakfast food, and nothing else. Although Brett was raised by mountain folk in Colorado, he now lives and tells jokes in NYC where against his will he gets meaner and funnier by the day. ZAC MAAS was born in Deadwood (yes, that one), South Dakota, and grew up in the Black Hills. An international headliner, from Mexico to Alaska, a writer, filmmaker, and actor, he calls Denver home. In Nov 2019, he was on Spaghetti High on Adult Swim. He is a regular at The World Famous Comedy Works, and in 2018 Thrillist called him one of the 50 best-undiscovered comedians in the country. Zac has performed at Bridgetown 2x, High Plains 5x, Cape Fear, SnubFest, and The Largest 420 festival in the world. Additionally, he’s received accolades as a producer and host for his shows Uncalled Four (Comedy Works), The Laugh Night on Earth (Alamo Draft House), Whiskey and Cigarettes podcast (Beat Serial for Westword’s Best podcast), and the Denver Phone It In Film Festival (Received an Imagine 20/20 grant from the city of Denver). He recently finished directing his first pilot and is currently in talks for development. Brad Stewart began his comedy career shortly after moving to Los Angeles from Nebraska in 1995 and winning 1st place in comedy contest. He beat out hundreds of comedians to win $500. Brad used it to register his car in California. Since that time Brad has performed at many different clubs and theaters all over the country to rave reviews. From The Nokia Theater in Los Angeles to the Hilton Casino in Atlantic City, Brad has entertained many diverse audiences with his high energy, observational style of humor. In early 2010 Brad had the honor of becoming a favorite opening act for comedy legend Joan Rivers. Joan said Brad is "so talented and a joy to work with" Brad has also opened for The Temptations, Jon Lovitz, Keith Sweat, Rob Schneider, The O'Jays, Barry Manilow, and 80's rockers Loverboy. In 2012 Brad was picked by TV Icon Marlo Thomas as a "Comedian to Watch" for the Huffington Post. Brad's comedy is a mix of his observations about life and his love/hate relationship with pop culture. Music is a big love of Brad's and a lot of his comedy comes from his frustrations with the state of popular music which should be relatable to anyone with ears.
