We will be having a Coin Collecting MB class on Sunday, April 3rd from 2:00 - 4:30 pm at Lovely Lane.  Brian has a rich history of coins and is one of only eight Doctorates of Numismatics in the entire world! Brian was on the governor's team to select the Iowa quarter design and was on the panel when the BSA revised the Coin Collecting Merit Badge book and requirements. Brian is very, very knowledgeable and gives a great presentation to the Scouts. I will be the Merit Badge counselor. We do need adults to stay, so please consider staying for the very informative class. Details: 1) Scouts need to wear their Class A uniform. 2) Class size is limited to 20 Scouts. 3) Free - free, free, free Scouts will need to bring/do the following prerequisites (these can be done as homework as well): 1) Collect from circulation five different state quarters. 2) Collect from circulation a set of U.S. coins. Include one coin of each denomination (cent, nickel, dime, quarter, half-dollar, and dollar). The coins do not need to be from the same year. 3) For each year since the year of your birth, collect a date set of a single type of coin (e.g.; if you were born in 2005, collect a nickel from each year between 2005-2018). 4) Another requirement is to visit a coin shop.
