Supervise All functions of Shipping & Receiving including but not limited to Warehouse, Storeroom(s), and Inventory Management. Description: Oversee the shipment of outgoing and the receipt of incoming materials, parts, or products. This position will involve picking, packing, and order fulfillment as well as kitting, pulling work orders, and providing line support to the work cells. Study and evaluate shipping and receiving processes for effectiveness. Suggest improvements to procedures and implement lean principles to reduce costs and minimize waste. Document shipment information and complete reports for management. Duties/Responsibilities: • Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, moving, storing, packaging, and shipping products & materials. • Interview, select, and train personnel. • Ensure employees abide by all safety procedures. • Ensure data going into the ERP system is being properly transacted and recorded. • Request Quotes through our Carrier Network, Generate BOL’s and other required shipping labels, and pack slips. • Ensure Outbound Skids and Packages are properly identified and labeled accordingly. • Issue shipping instructions and provide routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated. • Communicate with Project Management in order to Schedule trucks to job sites accordingly. • Coordinate warehouse and stockroom activities to ensure product flow for production and finished goods. • Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, or demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and to issue work assignments. • Inspect physical conditions of warehouse, vehicles, or equipment. Order maintenance & repairs as necessary. • Schedule and monitor pickup, delivery, and distribution of products or materials. • Improve warehouse work processes through strategic planning in order to create a more efficient fulfillment system • Continuous departmental process improvement. • Help out in other areas as deemed necessary. Skills/Requirements/Qualifications/Education: • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills. • Coordination, timer management, and planning abilities. • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses, alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to issues. • Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. • Monitoring — Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself and other individuals to make improvements or take corrective action. • Management of Personnel Resources — Training, motivating, developing, and directing people as they work; identifying the best people for the task. • Comprehension — Understanding of work-related documents and procedures. • Computer literacy including MS Office Suite, ERP, and MRP platforms • Ability to operate fork truck and other vehicles as necessary • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly • 3-5 years’ work experience leading people in a warehouse environment.
