We're so excited to see our classmates and their families at the end of June on Cape Cod! We need a full list of who's coming, to coordinate communications centrally. The catering contracts have been signed and money has already been paid to the venues, so we are also going to need folks to register and pay for that. You can register a la carte, or all at once. Two weeks before the event, registration will close and you will no longer be able to attend anything you haven't paid for. There will be no day-of or last-minute registration. This is the policy of the venues we are working with. Falmouth is a hard place to get a table without a long wait on summer weekends, so we have decided to have three full-class dining events: Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday brunch. We want to let you know that there is no upcharge on these costs - we are simply passing the exact cost to us directly on to you. No paid staff is involved in planning this unofficial, non-university-sponsored event. To those not used to planning events, group banquet costs may seem high. However, they are quite reasonable by industry standards. We're supporting small businesses and their staff, and to produce a meal for over 100 people at a time in a large room brings costs you don't see when buying groceries or fast food. The end of June is already peak wedding season in the Cape, and our parties are wedding-sized. We want everyone to be able to come if they can swing it, and we know the cost could be prohibitive for some. Toward this aim, we created a limited number of reduced-price tickets for classmates to sponsor and claim. Please only take advantage of this generosity if you would otherwise be unable to join us. We hope you can sponsor your classmates' attendance if you are able, as we all have varying levels of income. (Those who claim reduced price tickets -- or offer sponsorship -- will remain completely anonymous. ) Our Saturday night clambake and Sunday brunch events are at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel, where many of us are staying. Friday night, we're renting out Soprano's Casino By the Sea, a 20-minute drive/carpool from the Sea Crest. Both venues will have a cash bar. We can't wait to see you!
