A RUN TO GIVE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS A REASON TO SMILE AGAIN Give Back A Smile 5K was started in 2012 to benefit the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Charitable Foundation’s (AACDCF) Give Back a Smile Program (GBAS).  According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, it is estimated that 20 victims every minute and 10 million women and men will be victims every year. GBAS assists victims in rebuilding the lives and dignity of survivors through compassionate cosmetic dental services and support programs. Bruises and scars may fade, but teeth cannot be repaired without help.  The program provides restorative and cosmetic dentistry in the smile zone at no cost to qualified survivors through the nationwide network of volunteer cosmetic dentists and support team of laboratories and dental manufacturers.  Money that is donated to the GBAS program is used to pay for travel experiences, lab fees, clothing, as well as scholarships for patients trying to return to school.  All profits of this event will be donated straight to GBAS.
