KANE COUNTY, IL — A former Aurora man is facing time in prison after he was convicted of threatening a public official, according to Kane County prosecutors. James Warren, 46, made public threats on his Facebook page in 2018 that he would kill a Kane County judge who was presiding over a family court case involving Warren, according to a news release from Kane County State's Attorney Jamie Mosser. Strangulation Death: Aurora Man Charged With Murder Warren was arrested in August 2018 after police said he sent text messages to and made Facebook threats against a judge and their family over a six-week period that summer, the Daily Herald reports. Those messages and threats caused the judge's family to have "reasonable apprehension of future bodily harm," the report states. Warren, who is free on bond, could be sentenced to probation or up to five years in prison. He is due to be sentenced March 5.
