Assistant Gardener/ Groundskeeper Full Time - Grounds Department Annie’s Annuals & Perennials, located in Richmond, CA, is a nationally recognized, trend-setting plant nursery offering one of the largest selections of rare and unusual annuals and perennials to be found anywhere. Our offerings include exclusive plant introductions, California natives, cottage garden heirlooms, and Mediterranean climate varieties from around the world. The majority of our plants are grown from seeds or cuttings without the use of growth hormones, systemic pesticides or neonicotinoids. Our on-site R&D facility and 3.5-acre nursery are a botanical and pollinator wonderland! Annie’s focus on plant education makes gardening accessible to everyone – from beginning gardeners to lifelong enthusiasts. Annie’s is looking for an Assistant Gardener/Groundskeeper to join our team. The Assistant Gardener/Groundskeeper assists the gardeners in cleaning & maintaining the gardens, containers, & grounds of the retail nursery. This position is almost exclusively outdoors come rain or shine. Duties will include: Garden Duties: Watering, weeding, pruning, cleaning Large plant removal, deadheading plants. Container Duties: Filling Container for plants Dumping old soil & plants Moving containers to designated spots Grounds Duties: Weeding Removing Garbage Cleaning Specific Area as directed Other various duties as assigned. Desired Qualifications and Skills: Previous gardening or landscaping experience. Must be able to listen and take direction well Must be able to lift 50 lbs Must be able to work outside and be on your feet for long periods of time Knowledge of Annie’s plants is a plus. Language: · Bilingual English and Spanish helpful Salary and Benefits: Schedule: This position is a Full Time. Work week is Monday- Friday/40hrs a week.
