WHITEFISH BAY, WI — A vehicle that police suspected was just involved in a hit and run in Shorewood crashed into a light pole on 3600 Port Washington Road on Sunday after police pursued it, according to the Whitefish Bay Police Department.
A Whitefish Bay police officer tried to pull the vehicle over on 5500 Lydell Avenue just before 5 p.m. It was traveling very fast, and it had matched the description of the vehicle involved in the crash in Shorewood, WFB police posted on Facebook. The vehicle fled and a pursuit was started, but it was later ended and police say they pulled to the side of the road.
Police say it was after they ended the pursuit and pulled to the side of the road they saw the fleeing vehicle blocks ahead of them, crashed into a light pole on 3600 Port Washington Road. Several people fled the vehicle and two were arrested, according to the WFB police post.

A vehicle that was unlocked and had its keys inside was stolen from 5600 Shore Drive around 3 a.m. on Feb. 17.
Three different entry to vehicle complaints were reported to police on Feb. 17 early that morning. All of the vehicles were unlocked and nothing was stolen, but complaints came in from 500 East Lake Terrace, 500 East Lake Hill Court and 6200 Lake Drive.
