Raya is a 6 year old Dachshund X Chihuahua mix. She was rescued from a horrible hoarding situation along with a bunch of other dogs. Raya has not been taken on any walks because of her puppies, and thus has not yet started working on leash training. She likes to be in her foster's backyard, free-roaming with the other pups while her foster hangs out with them outside. She is not a nuisance barker, a chewer, or a digger. Raya used potty pads when she had her puppies and then transitioned back to going potty outside with no issues. She has had no accidents in her foster home. She has been using a pen instead of a crate. After her puppies were weaned she started sleeping in a dog bed or on the couch with her foster's dog Zoey. Her foster family leaves their sliding glass door open most of the day for the dogs to go in and out when needed. The ideal home for Raya is a home with other dogs and loving people ready to help her develop her confidence. She is a total sweetheart and will be a wonderful pet if you have the patience to let her come to you. Once she trusts, her cute personality comes out and she’s a love. Patience is the name of the game with her. Raya is only an option for homes that have had a dog of their own as an adult. If there are any children in the home they need to be over the age of ten.
