FALMOUTH, MA — Nomination papers became available Tuesday for the Falmouth annual municipal election. The 2022 town election will be held on May 17.
The town clerk's office said nomination papers will available until March 25. March 29 is the deadline to return nomination papers.
Nomination papers must be signed by at least 50 registered voters in town, and at least 10 of them must come from the candidate's precinct.
Papers can be taken out to run for the following positions:
Selectman (elect two, with three-year term)Town Clerk (elect one, with three-year term)Trustee of the Public Library (elect two, with three-year term)Planning Board (elect two, with three-year term)School Committee (elect three, with three-year term).As for town meeting members, nine will be elected in each precinct for three-year terms. Residents will elect an additional member in the following precincts:
Precinct 1 for two yearsPrecinct 2 for one yearPrecinct 5 for one yearPrecinct 7 for one yearPrecinct 7 for two years Those looking to register to vote can do so in the town clerk's office, they can complete a Mail-in Voter Registration Form, or use the Online Voter Registration System on the Secretary of State's website.

Falmouth is divided into nine precincts. Residents must vote in their own precinct.
Residents can call the town clerk to find out which precinct they live in. Residents can also find their precinct by entering their street address on the Secretary of State's website.
Massachusetts now offers early voting and mail-in voting. All early voting will take place at Falmouth Town Hall at times and dates to be determined by the town clerk's office.
