Description
This event is held to welcome our new Afghan Americans and celebrate Now Roz (New Year).
The event will consist of games, henna stations, music and dancing. There will be additional activities engaging you with the Afghan culture such as poetry and egg-painting, displaying Afghan apparel, and more! There will be great food catered from one of our very new New American friend's kitchen. This is a time to form meaningful connections, welcome our new community members, and celebrate as a collective.
Parking Info:
* Franklin Street Parking (located at 349 Franklin, West of 415 Franklin). This is the primary parking lot to use. Use caution when crossing Madison street, and enter the main Chapel doors.
* Morris Street Parking (located East, between 415 Franklin and Boys and Girls Club). This small lot is ideal for pick-ups and drop-offs, and is the wheelchair accessible entry.
Treetops Collective started with a question: how does a refugee woman make this community her true home—a place where she and her family can flourish for generations to come?
Just like trees need the right soil and conditions—so do strong women. As they become established and stable, they provide shade for others, prevent erosion, and provide numerous other benefits to their surroundings.
Mission:
We are a cross-cultural movement that connects with and invests in New American women leaders, together transforming our communities into places of belonging.
Vision:
We imagine a world where any person who has experienced the pain of displacement finds a community where they can live a vibrant, whole life in connection with their neighbors.
