Description

EAST HAVEN, CT — Starting next month, masks will be optional for students and staff members in East Haven Public Schools, the New Haven Register reported. Superintendent Erica Forti said in a letter that officials will monitor the change along with state and local health agencies, and she said the district will reverse its decision if it chooses to, according to the New Haven Register. Any student or staff member who still wants to wear a mask will be able to, Forti said, as reported by the Register. Gov. Ned Lamont announced on Feb. 7 that Connecticut will lift its school mask mandate beginning March 1, allowing individual school districts to decide whether they want to continue requiring face coverings.
